Leaky Condos and the Insurance Crisis
As you may know, in the spring of 2003 our company found itself on the horns of dilemma. We received the word that our insurer was declining professional liability coverage for our firm. The problem was the fact that DEC had been named in a number of  “leaky condo” suits. In each case the insurer was required to put aside reserves against the cost of mounting a possible defense.
