Dale E. Carter
President and Principal

As founder and president of DEC Design, Mr. Carter is responsible for client liaison, contract management, operations and site inspections. He has extensive experience as a design technician for plumbing, fire protection, heating and ventilation design and cost estimating. He is an active member of ASHRAE, having held a variety of executive positions including Director at Large. He is currently on the nominating committee for the organization's executive officers. You will notice the longevity of the staff team, a tribute to Dale's constant effort to promote the team and support the staff. |

William T. Vaughan, P.Eng.

Mr. Vaughan is responsible for client liaison, systems design, supervision of design and specifications, surveys and on-site supervision. Bill graduated from Birmingham University in 1966 with an honors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has extensive experience in building mechanical engineering, including comprehensive knowledge of direct digital control systems. In recent years Bill has demonstrated his creativity and competence in his design of geoexchange systems for such projects as Poets Cove at Bedwell Harbour and Dr. Peter Centre. Prior to joining DEC Design, Bill worked with Public Works, Canada as Chief of Maintenance Engineering, Pacific Region, and with Transport Canada as a Senior Standards Engineer with the Airport Facilities Branch (Ottawa). |

Erik Lindquist, P.Eng. PMP
Senior Project Engineer

Erik is a professional engineer and project management professional with over 18 years experience designing and building large scale projects with budgets from CAD $0.25M to $100M. Erik has seven years experience in the nuclear industry where he won awards for work in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and reactor safety. He has ten years experience optimizing manufacturing, inventory, distribution and sales processes for a broad range of market sectors including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, natural resources, automobile manufacturing and construction. Erik’s most recent work was the initiation and management of design and construction of the Westhills District Energy Sharing System (DESS), which is designed to reduce overall building energy and potable water consumption by over 40%, and includes the possibility of recovering heat and reclaiming water from a future waste water treatment plant.
Erik successfully co-founded Canada’s leading provider of authentication and online payment processing solutions, which recently sold for CAD $26M plus working capital. He also founded SunGen, an alternative energy finance company, that helps developers and municipalities move infrastructure development costs from their balance sheet to the utility balance sheet, saving the developer and community millions of dollars. |
